The North Woods Rest Motel is centrally located between Eagle River and Minocqua in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. It is the perfect place to relax and find a quiet spot to read your favorite book or just sit and observe the scenery. We have public access to thousands of acres of state forest land and lakes ~ this gives you great opportunities for hunting and fishing.
St. Germain has an abundance of eagles, osprey, loons, deer and an occasional black bear can be seen if you are lucky. Wolves have also been spotted in the area. Small critters such as squirrels, chipmunks and raccoons abound. For the bird enthusiasts, blue jays, chickadees and rose-breasted grosbeaks are common in northern Wisconsin.
There are seasonal outdoor activities for the whole family including snowmobiling on the region's best groomed and maintained trails, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, golfing, hiking and horseback riding. There is canoeing and kayaking in the area as well as the new paved St. Germain Hike and Bike trail that connects us to the communities of Sayner and Boulder Junction.
St. Germain's flea market is the largest and best attended in the area and is held every Monday from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The community also holds several craft shows and the annual Pig in the Pines™ RibFest has become a great favorite for area visitors.
We cater to the sportsman! A fish cleaning area in the summer. Freezer space provided upon request. In the winter, a heated garage is available upon request for your snowmobile maintenance and repair needs. |
