HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTIONS

Northwoods Hazardous Waste Collections - Three will be conducted in the summer of 2008.

The dates and locations for the collections are:

June 20 & 21 - Oneida County Highway Department Shop, Poplar Drive, Minocqua

July 18 & 19 - Lac du Flambeau Transfer Station, Lac du Flambeau **

August 1 & 2 - Vilas County Fairgrounds, Eagle River **

** Sponsored by the Vilas County Solid Waste Committee

Hours of collection will be Friday-noon to 4:00 PM & Saturday-8:00 AM to noon. These are not free "clean sweeps". Disposal costs will be between $0.30 and $2.00 per pound. Residents, property owners and businesses of Oneida, Vilas and surrounding counties can participate. Oneida County has a permanent Hazardous Waste Facility open all year located at the Oneida County Solid Waste Site. So if you can not make one of the collections you can bring it to the permanent facility. For more information about the permanent facility or the events call 715-282-4942.

RECYCLING INFORMATION

Central Wisconsin Recycling - 1st Thursday of Each Month at the Community Center

They will be coming the first Thursday of each month from 12:30 to 1:30 except January, February & March.

Yard Waste Facility off of Juve Road on Forest Lane

Opening on Saturday, May 17, 2008 & will be open every Saturday after that for the rest of the summer!

8:00 AM to 4:00 PM ~ Brush, Leaves & Needles Only!
